My Story

I started and fell in love with quilting nearly 10 years ago. After about 3 years, I wanted to be able to complete my quilts from start to finish. I learned quickly how difficult it was to produce the "fancy" quilting and be precise on a domestic machine.

After much research, I bought a Gammill Statler Computerized Longarm Machine. I added a building in the back yard to accommodate the machine as it is 14 feet long and can handle 144 inches of quilt. I named the building and the business The Longarm Quilting Barn. I wanted to paint it red, but I didn't think the neighbors would appreciate it :).

I began a very small business. Since I was still working, I did not do any formal advertising. Word of mouth has kept me quite busy!  BUT NOW I am retired!!!  I am excited to go full swing into the one thing I love the most and that is quilting.

I have been married to a wonderful man for 10 years and between the two of us we have 9 grandchildren. I have worked as a certified hand therapist (Occupational therapist) for nearly 30 years and have just recently retired.

My goal is to build a business that allows me to work from home into my retirement years.  I wish to offer quality service to my clients at an affordable price.

I want to "BRING YOUR QUILTS TO LIFE"
